To mark the X5's 10th birthday, BMW has launched a special edition version of the second generation SUV or as the Bavarian marketers prefer to name it, SAV which is short for Sport Activity vehicle. Powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged straight-six diesel with 286 horsepower, the X5 xDrive35d 10-Year Edition boasts a special Sophisto Grey metallic paint finish along with bespoke 20-inch light alloy wheels, matte aluminum exterior decor and roof rails as well as a panoramic glass sunroof.
The special edition X5's cabin has been upgraded with a Nappa leather upholstery, 'Piano Black' trim, anthracite headlining and some other additional features that the company decided to keep for itself...
The package also includes 10-Year' plaques fitted to the front doors, front door sill plates and on the dashboard.
Overall, 2,000 X5 xDrive35d 10-Year Edition models will be available worldwide with approximately 10 per cent of production destined for the UK where the diesel-powered versions account for a staggering 95 percent of total X5 sales.
The special edition model is on sale now in the UK with on-the-road prices starting from £53,075.
